This Festive Cocktail – The Method
WThis is a simplified take on a cocktail found on our latest drinks list. This is a batch prepared mix that is bursting with the essence of the holiday season, rendering it excellent for your celebration. Any leftover citrus syrup for morning drinks, desserts, or to make additional servings of the drink.
Bikini
Makes enough for 10 servings
To make the Clementine Syrup (yields 750ml)
300ml fresh clementine juice
200ml fresh lemon juice
500g fine sugar
To make the Drink (makes 850ml, serving 10)
400ml decent vodka
100ml London dry gin
150ml peach schnapps
200ml clementine syrup (as made above)
Fresh cranberries, as a garnish
Mandarin essential oil, as a final touch
Method
To prepare the Cordial: Place the listed items inside a pan, bring to a simmer, mixing until the sugar dissolves. Next, take off the burner and let it to reach room temperature fully. Transfer into a clean bottle, seal keeping it chilled, it will last for around one month.
To make Batch Mix: Mix all the spirits and syrup in a big jug, allow it to infuse for one hour, then filter it , ideally through a fine cloth, so it's fully clarified.
To serve: Pour 85ml of your premix into your cocktail shaker containing ice, and agitate carefully for one minute to cool it down. Strain into an cold coupe glass or similar, garnish with some cranberries adding the final touch by giving it a brief mist of the essential oil above the glass.
